Go

During my last four training runs with my friend Josh it has been getting colder and colder, and I have been spending more time explaining my thoughts on gear and how we should evaluate it. I don't mind weather, but my physique does not include much insulation. For me bad gear leads to a lot of lost heat in a short time.
Being a physicist by profession and having a labcoat-wearing-gearhead nature it is not enough for me to walk into a shop and ask for advice about gear. I have to ask everybody, read everything, and then break it all down into something I can understand.
I am starting this blog because from underwear to shoes to I want to know everything about gear. My passions cover outdoors, indoors, and everything in between and I believe that if I can find the right gear it will be easier and more fun to do this stuff. Since I am doing all of this research and mixing it all together I want to share my findings with those of you who have better things to do than research gear all day.
I live in mid-michigan and it is winter here now. So my first blogs will be about cold-weather gear, specifically base layers. From there I would like to explore jackets, layering, and possibly wetsuit combinations for ice cold water.
Cheers
